NDO - Launched last August, the Competition attracted more than 30 topics from universities and academies in the capital. The Organizing Committee worked to select the 10 best topics to enter the Final Round held on December 10, 2024 at Hanoi University of Architecture.
Implementing the activities of Program 07 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Promoting the development of science, technology and innovation in Hanoi in the period of 2021-2025" associated with the focus on scientific research and innovation among young people, students and youth, the Hanoi Youth Union organized the "Innocity Smart Urban Design Competition" in 2024.
The competition aims to promote the application of science and technology, sustainable urban management, create favorable conditions for research and transfer of scientific and technological advances into practice, constantly innovate and improve. Thereby, improving productivity, increasing investment attraction, opening up a favorable business environment for enterprises.

In addition, the contest also emphasizes the application of science and technology in urban management, taking advantage of technology to manage infrastructure, traffic, and energy in a smart and efficient way; at the same time, reducing resource waste, improving the quality of urban order management, gradually solving challenges such as traffic congestion, sustainable use of land resources, responding to climate change, etc.
According to Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the Hanoi Student Association Nguyen Tien Hung, the focus of the Competition is on improving the quality of urban planning, developing synchronous infrastructure and building smart, streamlined urban models with their own identity. This will not only help Hanoi become a smart, modern city, but also create a spillover effect, promoting connectivity between the northern urban area and the whole country.

"This is an opportunity to nurture young talents, support and realize smart urban solutions, contributing to the sustainable development and upgrading of Hanoi in the future," said Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung.
After a period of exciting competition, the first place of the Contest belonged to the team Awake Drive - Steady steps on the long road (Hanoi University of Science and Technology). The Organizing Committee also awarded 1 Second Prize and 1 Third Prize to the teams AR/VR Hanoi - Discovering cultural heritage (Hanoi University of Architecture) and Smart tourism platform in Hanoi (Hanoi University of Architecture).
