Cau Ngu Festival is one of the long-standing traditional festivals, a typical product of the coastal communities in the Central and Southern regions of Vietnam. The festival is associated with the worship of the Nam Hai God, taking the image of Whale - the guardian god of the sea of fishermen. |

For coastal community life, Cau Ngu festival is the biggest festival of the year, both praying for a good harvest - praying for fish, worshiping the fish god, and expressing the desire for a year of "calm skies, smooth sailing, and a full hold of fish and shrimp". |
