Da Nang: Exciting Youth Festival to Defend the Fatherland

In the joyful atmosphere of the first days of Spring At Ty 2025, along with localities across the country, this morning, 1,444 outstanding young people across Da Nang city enthusiastically joined the army and served in the army and the People's Public Security force. Attending were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh; Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Van Trung, along with comrades in the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of Military Region 5, the City People's Council and People's Committee to attend and encourage the new recruits to join the army, performing their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

This year , Da Nang city was assigned to select and call 1,444 citizens to join the army . Of these, 1,100 young people performed military service in 13 units under the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5 and 344 young people enlisted to serve a limited term in the police force assigned to the Ministry of Public Security and the City Police. Most of the young people wrote applications to volunteer to join the army , some of them were already party members.

In the exciting atmosphere of the military enlistment day, many relatives, family and friends of the new recruits were present very early to encourage and see their children off to fulfill their sacred duty to the Fatherland.

Of the 1,444 citizens enlisted to perform military service and public security duties this year in the city, 1,130 citizens graduated from high school (accounting for 77.9%); 317 citizens with intermediate, college, and university degrees (accounting for 21.9%); 12 party members, 5 employees, and 7 pairs of brothers volunteered to join the army. The leader of the City Military Command said that not only ensuring the quantity but also the quality of young people in the military recruitment is increasingly improving. Many young people have stable jobs in and outside the locality but are ready to put them aside to volunteer to join the army .
