Talking with provincial leaders and ministries and branches at the scene, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized the requirement to promote the application of information technology and automation in implementing import-export procedures, associated with administrative procedure reform so that "smart border gates must be truly smart, reducing costs for businesses".

At the meeting, the leaders of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee reported on the implementation of the pilot project to build smart border gates on the dedicated freight road in the area of landmarks 1119-1120 and the dedicated freight road in the area of landmarks 1088/2-1089 belonging to the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) international border gate pair. At the same time, Lang Son Provincial People's Committee also made recommendations to central agencies to handle difficulties in the implementation of the project.

Representatives of the Government Office, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of National Defense, Border Guard, Ministry of Industry and Trade, General Department of Customs, etc. expressed their support and high consensus on the pilot implementation of the smart border gate project in Lang Son to enhance trade cooperation and promote trade between Vietnam and China.

Representatives of ministries and branches also discussed the province's recommendations as well as the work that needs to be done, especially work related to planning, capital allocation, complex housing construction areas; import and export procedures and responsibilities, coordination of agencies... to effectively implement the project in the coming time.

Concluding the working session, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that Huu Nghi International Border Gate is the "face of the whole country" and plays a particularly important role; expanding and facilitating trade of goods, promoting production, business and export, contributing to the overall development of the country.
Citing the application of information technology in the fields of tax, customs and securities, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the important requirements of the information technology system in promoting import and export activities and building smart border gates.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc stated that the project has clearly assigned responsibilities to ministries and branches; therefore, the first thing to do is to adjust the detailed planning, taking into account factors to ensure national defense, security, and natural disaster prevention and control. This is something that needs to be done immediately.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to closely follow the approved project and perform well the assigned tasks.
