YenBai - Small in stature and with only one leg, but with a positive outlook on life and strong will, teacher Nong Thi Viet Nhung, a teacher at Tran Phu Primary School, Luc Yen District, has strongly overcome adversity, constantly striving to become one of the youngest excellent teachers in Yen Bai province.

Through Ms. Nhung’s clever application of smart classroom equipment, dry mathematical numbers have now turned into active and engaging lessons. She is passionate about teaching, students are excited about the lesson… Looking at it, no one knows that Ms. Nhung has gone through an extremely difficult period when she had to amputate a third of her left thigh due to a herniated ganglion cyst in the leg socket. A prosthetic leg has accompanied her for more than 20 years.

She spends most of her time researching and exploring new teaching methods, improving her ability to apply information technology and increasing interaction with students. Through research and drawing conclusions from the process of teaching the subject, combining theory and practical research, Ms. Nhung has had many practical initiatives and experiences that have been applied effectively. In the role of head of the professional group, Ms. Nhung always leads the group to successfully complete the task of innovating teaching methods, solving difficult problems in lesson planning and teaching in class.

In return for her efforts to overcome adversity, in 2017, teacher Nong Thi Viet Nhung was honored to receive the title of Excellent Teacher from the President at the age of 42. She was also one of the youngest Excellent Teachers in Yen Bai province at that time. In 2019, she was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister, and was continuously recognized as an Excellent Teacher at the provincial level for many years; the title of Emulation Fighter at the grassroots level, Emulation Fighter at the provincial level; certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Vietnam Education Trade Union, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. She was also honored to be an outstanding delegate of the province to attend the 10th National Patriotic Emulation Congress in 2020...
