On the evening of June 1, hundreds of residents in apartment buildings in Thanh Ha urban area (Thanh Oai district, Hanoi) rushed to carry and buy clean water for daily use.
Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Thinh, Head of Residential Group No. 3 (building HH02-2C, Thanh Ha urban area) said that the clean water shortage happened in the morning of the same day.
According to Mr. Thinh, the water cut was not announced by Thanh Ha Clean Water Joint Stock Company. Therefore, more than 750 households (about 3,000 people) had no choice but to go to neighboring buildings to ask for water.
“We called Thanh Ha Clean Water Joint Stock Company to ask when the water will be restored, but the company has not announced a specific time. We hope that if the water is cut off, they will notify in advance so that people can prepare,” said Mr. Thinh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung (a resident of Thanh Ha urban area) said that the sudden cut off of clean water has disrupted her family's life.
"There was only a little clean water left so my husband and I let our children bathe. The whole family didn't dare to flush the toilet," said Ms. Nhung.
Mr. Duong Duc Trinh, Deputy Director of Thanh Ha Clean Water Joint Stock Company, said that cutting off water in Thanh Ha urban area was an 'unnecessary' situation, because the supply from Ha Dong Clean Water Company Limited was affected.
