Kinhtedothi - On the morning of February 6 (January 9, 2025), President Luong Cuong presided over the incense offering ceremony to open the Spring of At Ty 2025 at Kinh Thien Palace - Thang Long Imperial Citadel relic site, commemorating ancestors and talented people who have contributed to the country.


Attending the incense offering ceremony were Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien; Politburo member, Party Committee Secretary, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi Bui Thi Minh Hoai.

Also attending were members of the Party Central Committee: Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Thanh; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and leaders of a number of ministries, departments and branches of the Central Government and Hanoi City.

The Spring Incense Offering Ceremony is an annual activity organized by the Thang Long - Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center in collaboration with the Thang Long - Hanoi Cultural Heritage Association with the meaning of looking back to the ancestors' roots, expressing gratitude to the merits of the predecessors who opened up the Thang Long culture, enlightened the Dai Viet civilization and passed it on to the glorious Ho Chi Minh era.

In front of the Dragon Palace of Kinh Thien - where the sacred energy of mountains and rivers converges, President Luong Cuong and delegates performed incense offering rituals, paying tribute to the ancestors, the talented people, and the generations of fathers and grandfathers who shed blood to preserve and protect the country of Vietnam; and reported to the ancestors the outstanding and comprehensive achievements of the country in the past year.

The President and delegates vowed to uphold the heroic and cultural traditions of Thang Long - Hanoi and the noble values ​​of the nation; to be loyal, filial, intelligent and pure; to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and continue the spirit of Thang Long; to foster the great national unity bloc, to build an increasingly prosperous, democratic, equitable and civilized country; to move towards a new era, an era of strong, prosperous and prosperous development; and for the people to have a prosperous and happy life.

Following the traditional New Year's tradition of "remembering the source of water when drinking" every year, the Spring Incense Offering Ceremony is held with many traditional rituals such as incense offering, sacrifices and many folk cultural activities such as dragon dance, festival drums, flag dance...

The ritual recreates the image of the Dragon and Fairy's children, with the wish for favorable weather, prosperity, national peace and security, promoting the martial spirit, the tradition of remembering the source of the nation's water and the indomitable spirit of the Vietnamese people.

Immediately afterwards, the Thang Long festival drums resounded, continuing the thousand-year historical flow of the capital, recreating the heroic spirit of Thang Long - Hanoi. The event had the participation of the Co Loa - Dong Anh festival drum team, the Hang Tong - Van Phuc communal house's male worship team, the Lang Thuong women's association's incense offering team and the Van Phuc - Ba Dinh communal house's octagonal music team, creating a cultural space imbued with national identity.

The incense offering ceremony to start the New Year is a respectful activity, paying homage to the ancestors, honoring traditional values, preserving the good customs and practices of our ancestors, inspiring the quintessence of national culture and educating the younger generation about traditions.
