On the afternoon of December 12, at the meeting of the People's Council of Da Nang City, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, had discussions with delegates about the issue of social housing apartments in the city.

According to Mr. Chinh, in the city there are many apartment buildings built more than 10 years ago, arranged for people in difficult circumstances to rent. Among them, many people do not have means of transportation, not even bicycles.

However, up to now, many of them have better economic conditions, can buy motorbikes and some even buy cars.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the above apartment projects do not have parking spaces because the tenants are poor people.

"Now, the development of society is a good thing. But at the same time, we must consider that officials and people with conditions must return their apartments to the state," said Mr. Chinh.

According to Mr. Chinh, first of all, as officials, we must set an example and return the apartment to reserve this place for those who do not have the conditions.

In addition, Mr. Chinh also hopes that social housing tenants must be responsible for state assets; not only use and manage them, but also regularly repair and preserve them so that public assets can last longer.

Speaking more about the three degraded apartment buildings of Lam Dac San Hoa Cuong, Thuan Phuoc and Hoa Minh, Mr. Le Trung Chinh said that the City People's Committee has issued a very specific plan for relocation, however, the implementation process is a bit slow and not on schedule.

According to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, some people who registered to buy social housing in other projects will be able to buy after Tet. In case people decide to move to a far away place, the city will clear the compensation.

Mr. Chinh requested that the district and county land clearance committees urgently speed up the compensation work. In case people want to move early, the city is ready to arrange it immediately.

Da Nang has about 12,000 social housing apartments invested by the budget, accounting for more than 80% of the whole country (about 15,000 apartments), contributing to the goal of ensuring social security according to the program "5 no, 3 yes" of Da Nang. Apartments for rent have 1-3 bedrooms. Depending on the area and floor location, the rental price is different. The location of social housing apartments for rent is most concentrated in Nai Hien Dong ward (Son Tra district).
