On February 10, sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nghia, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Da Nang City, said that he had submitted an application for early retirement.

According to Mr. Nghia, his decision is to create favorable conditions for the arrangement and streamlining of the city's political system.

“Besides, I am also the oldest in the department. I voluntarily resigned to create conditions for the younger generation to develop,” said Mr. Nghia.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nghia (60 years old). In early 2022, Mr. Nghia was appointed Deputy Director of the Department of Transport.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van Phung, Director of the Department of Finance of Da Nang, said that his retirement application has been submitted and is waiting for the Organizing Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee to review and make a decision.

Regarding his early retirement, Mr. Phung said that this was not a difficult decision because he was not old enough to be re-elected and he thought he had fulfilled his assigned duties. Therefore, his resignation was also to facilitate the proposed plan to reorganize and streamline the apparatus.

“As the head of a unit under the People’s Committee of Da Nang City, I have to be a role model. My retirement also contributes to making room for young, dynamic officials with a long time to contribute to further development,” said Mr. Phung.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phung (61 years old). In 2016, Mr. Phung was appointed Director of the Department of Finance.

In addition to Mr. Nghia and Mr. Phung, Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City, also submitted an application for early retirement. Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh (59 years old). In 2016, Mr. Thanh was appointed Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Da Nang City.
