Phu Yen has nearly 190km of coastline with many bays, beaches, and lagoons suitable for developing sea tourism , resort tourism, and eco-tourism, but to date it has not been properly exploited. Therefore, along the coast of Phu Yen there are still many long, uncultivated sand beaches.
To exploit the advantages of the sea, the People's Council of Phu Yen province recently approved the investment policy for the coastal road project connecting Tuy An district with Tuy Hoa city, creating a driving force to attract projects to this area. The total estimated investment capital for the project is more than 3,400 billion VND.
Accordingly, the coastal road invested is more than 14km long, starting at the north of An Hai bridge (in An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district).
The current An Hai Bridge is 173m long, 9m wide, and has a load capacity of 30 tons. During the investment process of the coastal road project, a single bridge will be built on the left side with a width of 16m.
The roadbed is also widened from 6m to 42m, with a design speed of 50-80km/h.
The end point of the project is located near the Navy Submarine Nursing Center (An Phu Commune, Tuy Hoa City). The implementation period is 2023-2027.
This project will connect to the extended Le Duan route, which is currently being expanded and is nearing completion.
It is known that most of this project will pass through coastal communes of Tuy An district, where the land is barren, uncultivated, and underdeveloped.
The population on both sides of the road is also quite sparse.
Some land areas passing through the coastal road project can only grow one rice crop during the rainy season, the remaining crop is left fallow due to lack of irrigation water.
The project is expected to create favorable conditions for the development of marine tourism, connecting national scenic spots such as O Loan Lagoon, Ganh Da Dia, Hon Yen complex with neighboring provinces, opening up development space and creating land funds along the coast to attract investment, develop infrastructure and facilities for the tourism industry.
