On the evening of March 8, in Ho Chi Minh City, the rock music night VNLE Concert - Just Rock took place at Ho Xuan Huong Stadium (District 3) organized by VNL Entertainment.
Hundreds of fans of this music genre gather to rock until late at night.
The music night featured Microwave, Chillies, 7uppercuts, Nam Toc, Nhan Danh, MONOCYCLE, Vortexx, Mystery Band - bands representing many generations of rock music in Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Rock deserves professional playgrounds
Among the artists participating in the event, there are newly formed bands such as Vortexx, Nam Toc, Nhan Dang, consisting of many young people who love and are passionate about this music genre, some members are only 14 years old.
There are also veteran bands like Microwave with 23 years of experience, or individuals who have quietly contributed to the Ho Chi Minh City rock community for the past 12 years like MONOCYCLE.

Mr. Henry Nguyen, representative of VNL Entertainment, admitted that the number of tickets sold will certainly not be enough and the company is willing to accept financial risks to carry out the mission of reviving the flame of Vietnamese rock.
"I want to organize a professional playground worthy of the value of rock, spreading the soul of rock to a wider audience" - Henry Nguyen shared.
Henry Nguyen himself is also a lover of golden age rock music, with bands like Chain, Wall, Microwave... and many foreign bands like ACDC, Iron Maiden...
Part of the reason he wanted to organize this project was to give back to the music that nurtured his youth.

In addition to the recent Just Rock concert, VNL Entertainment has also announced that it will organize such large-scale concerts every 3 months.
The concerts aim to create regular performance opportunities for large and small bands in the area, thereby gradually warming up the rock scene in Ho Chi Minh City and attracting many rock lovers to the stage to perform this music genre.
The band MONOCYCLE believes that events like Just Rock are a place for the band members to give their music to the audience.

Generations of rock
As long as the audience supports and accompanies rock, rock will continue to develop and gradually return to the contemporary music mainstream.
Thao Uyen, vocalist of the band Nhan Dang, shared with Tuoi Tre that this is one of the biggest music events Nhan Dang has performed since Ho Do 2023.
She also said that there are very few stages in Ho Chi Minh City for bands to perform self-composed songs, mostly covers.

That's why new and little-known bands like Nhan Dang, Nam Toc or Vortexx really need big stages like Just Rock to express themselves and find more audiences.
However, one downside to Just Rock Concert is the timing of the event.
The concert started at 5pm on Friday, most of the audience still couldn't get there in time to see the first bands perform.
It's a pity that young bands like Mystery, Nam Toc, Nhan Dang performed at a time when the audience was not yet crowded.
The young people still gave it their all on stage, but there were still too few spectators to respond, to create the atmosphere of a real rock concert.

According to Tuoi Tre , most of the audience attending the show were fans of more famous bands like 7uppercuts, Chillies, or were passionate about rock from the time of The Wall, The Chain, Microwave...
Many audiences bring their children to listen to the music that shaped their youth.
