Chau Thanh: 366 units of blood donated

This is the second time in 2025 that Chau Thanh district has organized humanitarian blood donation. From early morning, many people inside and outside the district were present to register to donate blood and have their health checked before having their blood drawn.

Mr. Huynh Minh Dien and his wife Ms. Huynh Doan Thu (Binh Minh commune, Tay Ninh city) said that they had donated blood many times in Ho Chi Minh City before, most recently in December 2024. On this occasion, they returned to their hometown Tay Ninh and knew about the blood donation activity, so they were willing to travel from Tay Ninh city to Chau Thanh to participate.

“My husband and I have not only donated blood but also registered to donate organs to Cho Ray Hospital for many years. We hope that these activities will help patients,” said Doan Thu.

Mr. Huynh Minh Dien and Ms. Huynh Doan Thu both participated in donating blood.

Also participating in this blood donation were Nguyen Hoa Phong (An Binh commune) and his son. He and his son have blood type O (Rh-), a rare blood type. Phong has donated blood more than 70 times. This time, he brought his son along to share his rare blood with the blood bank.

“Blood is important, rare blood is even more important. So besides myself, I also encouraged my children to join me. Hopefully our drops of blood will bring life to others in time,” said Mr. Phong.

At the end of the second phase, Chau Thanh district mobilized 366 units of blood. According to the plan, in 2025, the Chau Thanh District Blood Donation Steering Committee expects to receive about 2,300 units of blood. The third phase will be carried out on July 3 and the fourth phase on October 8 at Co.opmart Chau Thanh supermarket.
