On the afternoon of December 26, in Hanoi, the WELEAD Pioneering Women Leaders Network (WeLead) organized a seminar on "Women entrepreneurs and the importance of mental health in sustainable business" with the support of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG).

The seminar attracted nearly 150 delegates representing associations/associations/clubs of female entrepreneurs, business support organizations and female entrepreneurs from Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Yen Bai, Vinh Phuc, Thai Binh, Bac Giang, Ha Nam...

This is an activity in the program "Improving mental health towards sustainable development for female entrepreneurs" pioneered and implemented by WeLead with the commitment of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG). The program is the successor to a series of 4 online seminars and in-depth consultations in 2023 - 2024 on topics related to the mental health of female entrepreneurs within the framework of the regional project "Promoting the development of female entrepreneurs: Creating a gender-responsive business ecosystem (abbreviated name CWE) implemented by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN-ESCAP), the government partner agency in Vietnam is the Department of Enterprise Development - Ministry of Planning and Investment. When implementing the program, Welead received special attention from female business owners - those who are under a lot of pressure from business, family care, and social expectations.

The COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and armed conflicts in some countries have led to major economic, political, and social fluctuations around the world, increasing pressure on economies and businesses, including women-owned businesses . Speaking at the seminar, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Minh, Founder and President of WeLead and the person who initiated and directly developed the program, shared: According to statistics from the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2022 on mental health issues in the workplace globally, each year about 12 billion working days are lost due to depression and anxiety, causing a loss of 1,000 billion USD per year in labor productivity. Therefore, it is necessary to have a program to support female entrepreneurs to improve their knowledge about mental health to proactively and effectively prevent it, with the motto "Prevention is better than cure" for themselves, their families and employees.

Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien, General Director of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG) said,   mental health   extremely important for female entrepreneurs “ First, a leader with good mental health will run the business more effectively, creating a positive working environment, not only improving the quality of life but also promoting stability and sustainable economic development. Second , supporting mental health also contributes to reducing social stress, creating inspiration for the younger generation. The success of each female entrepreneur is the most inspiring story. Third , taking care of mental health is also an important step in promoting gender equality. We not only overcome specific barriers but also affirm the pioneering role of women in business fields”.

Ms. Le Hong Thuy Tien, General Director of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG)

The General Director of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG) also emphasized: We are living in a period where mental health is not only a personal issue but also a key factor in determining the sustainable development of businesses. This is especially true in the role of female entrepreneurs - those who both hold business responsibilities and shoulder many obligations in family and social life.
