Accordingly, the cancelled flight was operated by Easyjet, scheduled to take off at 11:15 a.m. (Spain time) to Berlin Brandenburg (Germany). Based on the flight schedule, Spanish fans will arrive in Germany after more than 3 hours. The EURO final between Spain and England does not start until 9 p.m., so these fans have nearly 7 hours to carry out sideline activities.
However, public television in Valencia reported that after completing the first flight (9:15 a.m.), Easyjet suddenly canceled the second flight. Many Spanish fans had prepared their luggage and headed to the airport but had to sadly leave. The reason was not disclosed, but Easyjet offered two solutions: fans would receive a similar flight to Germany on another day or receive a refund of the ticket price plus a small compensation.
“The sudden announcement puts Spanish fans in a difficult situation. The match is very close and it is practically impossible for them to get to Berlin by train or road. If they travel by private vehicle, it is expected that it will take Spanish fans around 20 hours to get to Germany, an unimaginable time. In addition, other airlines currently do not have flights to Germany, which complicates things,” Marca commented.
Easyjet had two flights to Germany on the day of the EURO final. Having completed the first flight at 9:15, the airline cancelled the flight at 11:15.
Hundreds of fans were outraged by Easyjet's sudden announcement. Many even wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that they would boycott the airline after the incident. To watch the EURO 2024 final live, Spanish fans had to work very hard to find tickets. Many even spent exorbitant amounts of money - tens of thousands of euros, hundreds of times higher than the original ticket price sold by the European Football Federation.
Marca added: “Easyjet cancelled the flight and they made a move to compensate 250 euros. Many fans felt hurt and did not accept this action because it was too small an amount. Some people are urgently looking for a solution, ready to sell tickets to the stadium to compensate for the loss.”

Spanish fans will be outnumbered by English fans in the EURO 2024 final
The EURO 2024 final will be held at the Berlin Olympic Stadium, which has a capacity of around 75,000 fans. According to German police reports, around 30% of the Spanish fans will be in the stadium. However, this number is completely outnumbered by the number of English fans.
