Bridge to nurture Vietnam - Korea relations

On the afternoon of June 30, the plane carrying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife and the Vietnamese delegation arrived at Seongnam military airport in Seoul, starting an official visit to South Korea at the invitation of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo and his wife.

According to VNA, right after arriving in Seoul, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Korean friends who have made many contributions to Vietnam - Korea relations.

Also attending the meeting were members of the Vietnamese delegation, leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, representatives of organizations such as the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association, the Association of Koreans who Love Vietnam, the Korean Business Association in Vietnam, and football coach Park Hang-seo.

Pleased to welcome Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Korea, Korean friends affirmed that every Korean citizen has good feelings for the country and people of Vietnam; said that they will continue to support Vietnam, assist Vietnam in the development process, and at the same time be a bridge contributing to fostering the Vietnam - Korea relationship to be better and better...

In the intimate, sincere and emotional atmosphere of the affection of Korean friends for the people and country of Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent his thanks and best wishes from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to Korean friends.

The Prime Minister thanked and highly appreciated the contributions of Vietnamese and Korean people's organizations and non-governmental organizations for their persistent and continuous efforts to organize many highly effective activities, promote exchanges and cooperation between the people and businesses of the two countries, contributing to connecting and creating a solid social foundation for the strong development of bilateral relations over the past time; affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam attach great importance to relations with the Republic of Korea.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called on Korean investors, businesses and people to continue to show affection for Vietnam; to turn that affection into specific projects and cooperation programs. The Prime Minister also hoped that Korean people and investors would continue to invest, do business and live in Vietnam; affirming that they will be treated fairly and equally, and their legitimate and legal rights and interests will be guaranteed.

In the evening of the same day, in Seoul, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife met with officials and staff of the Embassy, Vietnamese representative agencies and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Korea.

According to the Prime Minister, the Party and State consider overseas Vietnamese to be an inseparable part and a resource of the Vietnamese ethnic community. The Prime Minister acknowledged that the Vietnamese community in Korea has made great and high-quality contributions to the Fatherland and to bilateral relations, through stability and development in the host country, and the aspiration to become rich, affirming that the Vietnamese people, wherever they are, are not inferior to any other community.

With the motto that the Embassy is the home of expatriates, the Prime Minister requested the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea to always care for and look after the Vietnamese community in Korea, in the spirit of "relatives are like relatives; their work is like our own work"; establish appropriate contact channels to connect the community and handle related issues of the compatriots.

Believing that the success of overseas Vietnamese, including those in Korea, is also the success of the country, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the issues that overseas Vietnamese are concerned about and propose are being actively considered by ministries, branches, and agencies under the Government in coordination with agencies of the National Assembly.
