Once the number 1 phenomenon of Vietnamese rap and receiving much love from the audience, De Choat is now being criticized in every aspect.

Recent, Cricket launch new product named The best day . After more than half a year, the first champion of the game show Rap Viet has just released a proper song. Sadly for De Choat, the number of listens for The best day ever very low. The male rapper wrote a post announcing the release of music, but quickly locked the comments to avoid criticism from the community.

After Rap Viet season one, De Choat went downhill and got into many controversies.

What happened to Cricket?

Before April 2024, everything was normal for De Choat. After more than 3 years, since the Rap Viet milestone, the male rapper's career has gone backwards. However, from the foundation of owning a fanpage attracting more than a million likes, De Choat still maintains his influence on social networks. The male rapper's products are not hot but still ensure the number of hundreds of listens/views.

In April, De Choat shot himself in the foot with a series of confusing "dramas". The male rapper sparked controversy with a "status" accusing many rappers of making music that deviated from real life. De Choat's post attracted huge interactions, some praised, others were offended, making the male rapper an internet phenomenon once again.

De Choat continued to add fuel to the fire with a post inviting other rappers to compete in rhyming skills instead of dissing each other. After De Choat's call, many famous rappers released music to respond. ICD, Phuc Du, Toi, and Hanh Or joined the anticipated battle one after another because it was much gentler than dissing.

However, De Choat did not play music. He told the audience to wait for a well-prepared product, but in reality, the battle had faded into the past because of De Choat himself.

At the end of 2024, De Choat was accused by his senior rapper Jombie of "living wrongly" in the past. De Choat was dragged into the scandal and continued to receive criticism, but the male rapper did not speak up. Recently, De Choat caused a storm again with the wish: "I wish you guys to live honestly, less acting". The online community once again heavily criticized De Choat, to the point that the male rapper had to disable comments. Many viewers accused De Choat of being the one "acting", trying to attract attention by starting a rhyme match but then disappearing at the most important moment.

De Choat's fanpage, once a hot "address" for rap fans after Rap Viet season one, has now died prematurely due to too much toxicity from the online community. Even in the post announcing the release of music, De Choat still did not have the courage to reopen comments. To ensure safety, De Choat even locked the comment feature on YouTube.

From an idol of many audiences after winning Rap Viet, De Choat fell into isolation. He was criticized by many colleagues for daring to say but refusing to do. Rap audiences consider De Choat an exception in the industry. The number of listens/views of the MV is small. The best day ever also shows that De Choat's fan base is not paying attention to the rapper's activities.

The male rapper raps on a simple beat, with materials from many years ago. This is a product that serves De Choat's ego more than aiming for something new and innovative to attract the audience.

Quality of The best day ever just average. The rap lyrics are not new, not too much investment in skills. The rap hook is also smooth, not strong enough to be the biggest highlight to attract listeners.

Product story The best day ever attracted very few listeners in the first few hours of its release, first of all because the name De Choat was declining. Typically, on the YouTube platform, De Choat's channel has more than one million subscribers, but the rapper's most recent products have seen a decline in listens/views.

After a long absence, De Choat released music again on the channel, leading to a lack of suggestions for the channel. On the other hand, De Choat's new product did not invest too much. The MV on YouTube only had one image, with music inserted. The male rapper quietly released the song instead of promoting it, leading to the product not being noticed by the audience.

Since Rap Viet season one, De Choat has had a very good stepping stone to break out into the mainstream. However, over the past 4 years, the biggest problem holding De Choat back is still the music strategy.
