Recently, Samsung officially launched the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the included S Pen bute accessory.
The S25 Ultra's S Pen is as good a stylus as last year's. It has a 0.7mm tip and supports 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. It'll work perfectly for drawing or handwriting. However, without Bluetooth, the S25 Ultra's S Pen loses some of the features that set it apart from other styluses.
The S24 Ultra previously had a similar issue when users used a Fiberborne case. This resulted in an error message when using the S Pen, warning that the magnetic accessory could cause interference, causing the S Pen to function incorrectly or perform unintended Air commands.
Many users have reported similar issues. Notably, the issue seems to be resolved when using the MagSafe adapter with an official Samsung case. It’s possible that the thickness of the official case creates enough of a gap to minimize magnetic interference.
Samsung has not yet officially responded to this phenomenon.
It is known that the S Pen's touchless writing and commands on the screen are all based on the phenomenon of electromagnetic induction. The phone's screen will create an induction magnetic field, and inside the S Pen there is a coil to convert the magnetic field into energy to maintain the operation of the S Pen. Therefore, it is obvious that using a magnetic case affects the S Pen.
To limit the situation of the S Pen being affected, users should buy genuine accessories or non-magnetic accessories for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
