(QBĐT) - As the only candidate of the History team to compete at the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2022-2023 school year, Bui Quang Ha, a History major in grade 11 at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, has won first prize, bringing joy and pride to his family, teachers and friends, while contributing to affirming the quality of excellent students in the province.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Head of the History Team of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, could not hide her joy, saying that after 6 years of absence from the first prize at the National History Competition, Bui Quang Ha, the "youngest" member of the team of 8 students, had excellently brought home the first prize.
Today's achievement is the result of Ha's relentless efforts and passion for History since her junior high school years. Ha said that History and Math are two subjects she loves. And in grade 9, after much thought, she finally chose History and won third prize at the provincial competition for gifted students. Then, at the entrance exam to Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted, Ha continued her journey of self-affirmation when she became the second runner-up in grade 10 specializing in History.
The more he sticks with the subject, the more Bui Quang Ha discovers the fascinating things about History. Paying close attention and passionately following the lectures of his teachers in class, taking full notes, carefully correcting mistakes; persistently memorizing all milestones and events; always learning from his seniors and friends; reading many books, watching historical films, especially developing his self-study ability very well, are the "secrets" for student Bui Quang Ha to conquer a series of impressive achievements.
Along with the learning environment at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted in general, and the History class 11 in particular; the care and attention of teachers, including the homeroom teacher of the History gifted student team Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, the person who has a great influence on Bui Quang Ha's choice and achievements today is his mother.
Ha said that her mother was a former student majoring in History at Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted and won third prize in the National Excellent Student Exam. During her childhood years, in the family's daily stories, without her knowing, her mother's passion continued to be passed on to her. Her mother has always been her companion throughout the journey, especially in her sympathy and understanding in history lessons.

With the care and encouragement of teachers, parents and friends, Bui Quang Ha studied harder and confidently conquered his series of increasingly high achievements. That was in grade 10, he participated in the 11th grade advanced student competition and won third prize at the provincial level; grade 11 took the 12th grade advanced student competition and won second prize at the provincial level. After being included in the list of 8 students of the History excellent student team to compete at the national level, Ha excellently won first prize.
“This year’s History team also has 2 second prizes and 1 consolation prize. The second prizes went to Phan Lam Dung and Phan Phuoc Hoan; the consolation prize went to Dang Minh Ngoc. These are students who have achieved high results in the provincial and national competitions for gifted students in the 2021-2022 school year. And Bui Quang Ha, with his courage and sublimation, has excelled to become the first student of Vo Nguyen Giap High School for the Gifted to participate in the advanced level competition and won first prize in the national competition for gifted students,” shared teacher Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong.
Always diligent and almost never missed a class, along with a very busy schedule, especially during the time he was on the team, Ha still made time for his passion for football and Mathematics. Bui Quang Ha is also an active, enthusiastic and mature deputy secretary of the Youth Union.
When asked about her plans, Ha said that with the results she has achieved, there are many directions open, but she is still considering her options. In the immediate future, besides continuing to stick with History, Ha focuses on studying English well to open up more opportunities in the future.
At the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2022-2023 school year, Quang Binh won 28 prizes, including: 1 first prize, 5 second prizes, 5 third prizes and 17 consolation prizes. In particular, the first prize of Bui Quang Ha made an important contribution to improving the ranking of the province's national excellent student team. Specifically, Quang Binh ranked 23/69 in terms of prize quality and 35/69 in terms of prize winning rate. |
