( Bqp.vn ) - On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), on November 13, the General Staff delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, presented funds to support the construction of Gratitude Houses, Great Solidarity Houses, a number of civil works, new rural construction and policy gifts in Cao Bang province.

Speaking at the funding handover ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan emphasized that Cao Bang is the northern frontier of the Fatherland, proud of its historical sites, the homeland of the Vietnamese revolution. 80 years ago, implementing the policy of the Party Central Committee and the Directive of President Ho Chi Minh, on December 22, 1944, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army - the first main force, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army was established in the forest between Hoang Hoa Tham and Tran Hung Dao communes in Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province (now Na Sang hamlet, Tam Kim commune, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province). After 80 years of fighting, building and growing, the Vietnam People's Army has always shown the mettle of a revolutionary army, born from the people, fighting for the people; a special political force, a fighting force absolutely loyal and trustworthy to the Party, State and People. The Vietnam People's Army is not only a fighting army, a working army, a production labor army, but also a cultural army, a model of the revolutionary army.

On this occasion, the General Staff presented funds to support the construction of 19 Gratitude Houses and Great Solidarity Houses; construction of public works, new rural construction; and 60 gifts to policy families and outstanding students overcoming difficulties in Cao Bang province.

Writing his thoughts in the Golden Book of the relic site, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan affirmed that the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and the officers and soldiers of the entire army pledge to unite with one heart, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the State, the People and the socialist regime, and are determined to build a revolutionary, disciplined, elite and modern Vietnam People's Army, always raise revolutionary vigilance, be ready to fight, sacrifice, and excellently complete the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the People.
