Miss Ky Duyen has a hobby of collecting Labubu toys worth tens of millions of dong to display or decorate handbags.
Labubu is the most famous character in The Monsters collection, created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung in 2015. This type of art toy is inspired by Norse mythology, a small, sharp-toothed monster that always wants to help but accidentally does bad things. In Asia, singer Lisa of the Korean group Blackpink is said to have sparked a craze for this toy through the images she posted on social media.
In the country, many stars such as model Thanh Hang, singer Bao Thy, runner-up Huyen My and content creators on social networks also share about this collecting hobby. Among them, the most prominent is Miss Ky Duyen - who has a Labubu collection with hot models currently distributed by Pop Mart such as Labubu Macaron version 1, Zimomo 58 cm. She currently has more than 10 Labubu of all kinds with the cheapest price being 800 thousand VND, the most expensive about 10 million VND.

Although promoted by celebrities, genuine Labubu are limited production and sold randomly, which increases the excitement of hunting. Accordingly, the little monsters are sold in the typical art toy way of selling in sets in the form of "blind boxes".
Ky Duyen said she had no trouble "hunting" for toys, and was lucky to buy a Labubu set consisting of six model boxes, inside of which was a rare little monster called "secret" that appeared in a ratio of one in 70 sets. The price of Labubu secret is about five million VND if bought individually. "I spent 25 million VND to have this toy, to display at home, and to match with many types of handbags and backpacks," the beauty said.
In addition to Labubu, Ky Duyen also collects Bearbrick - a toy produced by the Japanese company MediCom Toy, designed with a minimalist bear head and a Lego-like body. Each toy bear consists of nine parts: head, body, hips, two arms, two hands and two legs. Bearbrick was created to honor film director Stanley Kubrick. The toy became famous when it was loved by many world stars, including Pharrell Williams.
After several years of collecting, the beauty queen has found dozens of Bearbrick models with different sizes and materials. "Spending tens of millions of dong to buy a Bearbrick sounds absurd. However, to me, the value of each one lies in the story, the material and the desire of everyone to own them," she said.
Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen, 28 years old, from Nam Dinh, won the title of Miss Vietnam 2014 when she was still a student at Hanoi Foreign Trade University. The beauty works mainly in the fashion industry, often holding the opening and vedette positions for shows.
