(Dan Tri) - The latest draft of the Teachers Law has removed the provision of exempting tuition fees for teachers' children. Previously, this proposal received many mixed opinions in recent times.
The latest draft of the Law on Teachers proposes policies to support teachers, including: Subsidies based on the nature of work and by region; Training and development support policies; Periodic health care and occupational health care.
In addition, the bill also stipulates policies to support mobility allowances for teachers working in literacy or universal education or on secondment or in intensive teaching or inter-school teaching or having to move to teach at schools in villages, hamlets, and hamlets; Other support policies for teachers.
In addition to these general policies, teachers working in ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, border areas, islands and areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions; teachers teaching in specialized schools, teaching inclusive education; teaching ethnic minority languages; teaching Vietnamese language enhancement to ethnic minority students; teachers teaching gifted subjects and arts are also entitled to the following support:
Ensure collective accommodation or rent official housing according to the provisions of the Housing Law and essential conditions when working in rural areas, ethnic minority areas, mountainous areas, border areas, islands and areas with especially difficult socio-economic conditions.
Teachers are paid for travel expenses during their working time in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions during annual leave, holidays, Tet, and personal leave to visit family according to regulations. Allowances and subsidies depend on the subject.
Teachers in public educational institutions enjoy support policies for civil servants and other support policies, if any.
In addition, localities and educational institutions are encouraged to have support policies to help teachers ensure their livelihood and career development in accordance with practical conditions and legal financial resources of the locality and educational institution.
Thus, compared to the draft law submitted at the 38th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the latest revised draft law has removed the proposal to exempt tuition fees for teachers' children.

According to the agenda of the 8th session, on November 9, the National Assembly will listen to Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, authorized by the Prime Minister, present a report on the draft Law on Teachers. In the afternoon of the same day, the National Assembly will discuss the draft law in groups.
In the second session, the National Assembly will continue to discuss this draft Law in the hall, scheduled to take place on the morning of November 20.
