TPO - On the sacred island of Truong Sa, there is a large Truong Sa pagoda. This is a spiritual refuge for fishermen.
Truong Sa Pagoda is located in the center of Truong Sa Island (Truong Sa Town, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province), in the complex with the Martyrs' Memorial and Uncle Ho Memorial House. |
Peaceful scene at Truong Sa Lon Pagoda every spring. In the photo, monk Thich Nhuan Dat is preparing with soldiers to welcome the Year of the Dragon. Always by his side is the gentle dog Lu, who always walks by his side. |
Tourist groups visiting the island all come here to burn incense with all their hearts, remembering the efforts of our ancestors in preserving the land for generations. |
"Visiting Truong Sa is already a blessing. Going to the pagoda to offer incense is even more meaningful," singer Hoang Yen, the nation's top 9 singer of the Sao Mai folk song contest, Television Singing Contest 2013, was moved in her traditional ao dai while visiting Truong Sa Lon pagoda. |
It has become a custom that the pagodas ring the bells twice a day at 5am and 6pm, when the temple bells ring, it is also the time to start the daily activities of a new day on the islands. The temple bells resonate with the sea breeze, with people's hearts, and carry prayers for peace for every family. When Master Thich Nhuan Dat was 13 years old, he went to the pagoda to attend a death anniversary and liked the pagoda so much that he stayed to practice. Master Nhuan Dat volunteered to go to Truong Sa in 2013. When he left, his master encouraged him to try to do Buddhist work in Truong Sa for a year. But Master Nhuan Dat has been gone for nearly 10 years without feeling the need to return. He is the monk who has been in Truong Sa the longest, but he still thinks: "I am still young, I still want to contribute to the Church, to the country. Remember to call 0978800899 from time to time so I can still hear the voice of the mainland". |
Despite the limited land fund, the pagodas on Truong Sa archipelago all have a three-door gate, a temple yard, a bell tower, a main hall, a front hall with sloping roofs, tiled roofs and curved roof edges, bearing the unique characteristics of Vietnamese pagoda architecture. The decorative motifs on the roof, columns, and steps are carved with lotus flowers, chrysanthemums, dragons, and clouds from the Ly - Tran dynasties. |
