Medical staff cannot always go to higher levels for training. Meeting the criteria for being granted a continuing education code helps medical staff save time, money and effort.
Mr. Nguyen Ngo Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training - Ministry of Health, said the above at the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Le Van Thinh Hospital (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) on the afternoon of May 19.
Mr. Nguyen Ngo Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Training - Ministry of Health (right cover), presented the certificate to the representative of Le Van Thinh Hospital.
According to Mr. Quang, previously, a person who was granted a medical practice certificate was valid indefinitely. However, the 2023 revised Law on Medical Examination and Treatment stipulates that the practice certificate is only valid for 5 years; the condition for re-issuance is that medical staff must have a certificate of continuous medical knowledge update every year.
Therefore, continuous updating of medical knowledge is very important for the medical industry. The Ministry of Health has issued a document instructing and requiring medical staff involved in medical examination and treatment to continuously update their medical knowledge every year to ensure quality and professional capacity.
The representative of the Ministry of Health awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to Doctor Tran Van Khanh, Director of Le Van Thinh Hospital, at the ceremony.
However, it is impossible for medical staff to return to the central level to continuously update their knowledge. Therefore, the Ministry of Health encourages central, provincial, city, and even district hospitals to meet the criteria to organize training right at the facility. This will be the premise for replication to many other medical facilities across the country.
Le Van Thinh Hospital is one of the few district hospitals that has been granted a continuous medical training code nationwide. Accordingly, the hospital has made continuous efforts to meet the indicators in the 5 training criteria of the Ministry of Health regarding facilities, training programs, training materials, teaching staff and organization and management.
On this occasion, many individuals at the hospital also received certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Thu Duc City.
Also at the ceremony, Dr. Tran Van Khanh, Director of Le Van Thinh Hospital, said that after 15 years of establishment and development, the hospital has received and transferred technology with the support of many experts from universities and end-line hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
Le Van Thinh Hospital has applied satellite models such as satellite clinics of the Oncology Hospital, City Eye Hospital, etc., bringing high efficiency. Not stopping there, this hospital is also a practice facility for many universities and colleges in the area; supporting the training of students, undergraduates and postgraduates.
"In the coming time, the hospital will aim to develop a scale of about 1,000 beds and become a complete general hospital, aiming for a smart hospital..., taking the patient as the center" - Dr. Khanh emphasized.
