After being awarded the Golden Camera, the film will be shown in Paris for a week, then will be shown in theaters in France on September 13.

Previously, the film was screened to audiences at the Cannes Film Festival in the Directors' Fortnight section, receiving thunderous applause from viewers and praise from international film critics.

The film Inside the Golden Cocoon is 3 hours long and tells the story of Thien, a brother-in-law who has to bring his sister-in-law's body back to her hometown after she died in a car accident in Saigon. He has to bring his nephew Dao to return to his brother, who has been missing for many years. This is the first feature film of filmmaker Pham Thien An after many short films.

Although the film is long, when it was scheduled to be shown in Vietnam this time, Mr. Thi Tran said that JKFilm kept the original length of the work, without cutting it. "Before submitting it to the Cannes Film Festival, JKFilm submitted the film to the Cinema Department for approval and it was approved, so JKFilm also wants Vietnamese audiences to enjoy and experience the entire original length of the work," Mr. Thi Tran shared.

The producer will keep the length of the movie Inside the Golden Cocoon the same when releasing it in Vietnamese theaters in the near future.

The producer was worried that the film would be selective in its audience when it was released in Vietnamese theaters. When asked if JKFilm was targeting any audience segment in the upcoming release, Mr. Thi Tran said: "In fact, at first, JKFilm was a bit worried that the independent film genre and the relatively long duration of the film would be selective in its audience. However, after being shown at the Cannes Film Festival and released for a week in Paris, the film received very positive comments from both Vietnamese and foreign readers in France. They seemed to be captivated by the rhythm of the film; the scenery and everything that happened in the film made the audience forget the length of the work."

Director Pham Thien An was born in 1989 and used to live and make films in Ho Chi Minh City. Five years ago, his short film The Mute premiered at the Palm Springs International Short Film Festival; a year later, he made his first trip to Cannes with the short film Stay Awake , Be Ready . He and his wife moved to the US four years ago.
