Right after Nguyen Hue Flower Street Spring At Ty 2025 officially welcomed visitors on the evening of January 27 (December 28), hundreds of visitors were extremely surprised when right on the flower street appeared a pair of robots raising their hands to greet, blinking their eyes and shooting hearts very 'cute'.
Thousands of tourists enjoy interacting with robots
This year, besides the magnificent artworks of snake mascots, the “Flower Robot” area can be said to be a special feature of Nguyen Hue Flower Street this year, attracting a large number of visitors to visit and interact thanks to the application of artificial intelligence technology.
Accordingly, when seeing visitors standing and observing the robot, the robot will greet and wish a happy new year in different male and female voices in 10 languages including Vietnamese, English, Dutch, Lao, Italian, Indonesian, Korean, Russian, Chinese and Thai. The greeting gestures are also different and the eyes also blink, wink, and shoot hearts, extremely lively and cute.
In addition, visitors only need to raise their hands to greet the camera, take a photo, beautify and display it for 15 seconds on the robot heart. Visitors can download the image as a souvenir on the website or scan the QR code.
By New Year's Eve, about a day later, there had been more than 5,000 visitors and more than 2,700 selfies with "Cotton Robot".
Surprisingly, the "father" of this pair of robots is a group of 13 people including 2 lecturers and 11 students of the Faculty of Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology.

Rush to complete within 30 days
Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Master Do Phi Hung, lecturer of Information Technology Faculty, Project Leader, said that this year's Nguyen Hue flower street has the theme "Brocade and flower mountains and rivers, happy and peaceful spring", with the space divided into 3 segments: solidarity, transformation, development.
In which, the robot represents the symbol of Ho Chi Minh City with a firm belief in a bright future in the new era, belonging to the "development" segment.
"The school received the order from the flower street organizers in a rather urgent period of time. From receiving the information and request to completing the robot was less than 30 days," Master Hung informed.
According to Master Hung, because Tet is near, the group of lecturers and students have to race against time, from coming up with ideas, researching, implementing and calibrating to make the robot work smoothly. Some students have to postpone their bus tickets to wait until the robot is completed before returning home, while others stay to operate it through Tet.
"Another difficulty is that the flower street is very crowded, the environment and light change constantly, causing the team to change the implementation plan many times to find the most suitable one. In addition, the team has many times adjusted and added features according to the suggestions of the art council and the flower street organizing committee to complete the product and attract visitors, creating a new look for this year's flower street", shared Master Do Phi Hung.
Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, shared that when accepting to implement this project, the school wanted to contribute a small part of its efforts in applying artificial intelligence to bring joy to people and contribute to beautifying the city during the New Year.
"Witnessing the joy and positive feedback from the people when participating in the spring outing at the 'Bondo Robot' area, our teachers and students are very grateful. This is also the motivation for the school's lecturers and students to continue creating valuable products and projects to serve the community in the future," Dr. Anh Tuan expressed.
