On June 1, Ho Chi Minh City Police said they had coordinated with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) and related units to arrest 3 Koreans who were wanted by Interpol (red notice is the wanted convention of the International Criminal Police Organization, also known as Interpol) for using high technology to commit crimes.

Accordingly, the three people arrested include: Jeong Kiwon (entered on March 23, 2023); Park Jaihyung (entered on September 20, 2022); Jang WooJin (entered on March 28, 2023).

According to Ho Chi Minh City Police, the three people entered and operated in Vietnam under the guise of being foreign investors and experts sponsored by a number of businesses in Ho Chi Minh City, legalizing their visa and temporary residence card applications.

According to Interpol's wanted list, the subjects created and operated an online gambling and betting website, operating a "Slot" game system on the Internet in Vietnam to make money (this is a gambling game, players deposit money to play and win or lose with money).

The group often communicates via the Telegram app and sets messages to automatically delete during the day to avoid detection by authorities.

Upon entering Vietnam, the subjects did not stay at the address declared upon entry but hid in many areas in Ho Chi Minh City, making it difficult for the authorities to arrest them.

After many days of surveillance, on May 22, Ho Chi Minh City Police arrested the subjects with red notices, and at the same time seized many pieces of evidence related to the subjects' illegal activities...

During the initial investigation, the group confessed to their violations of the law. Ho Chi Minh City Police coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security's professional units to detain the three red-listed individuals and handed them over to the Korean side on the evening of May 26, 2023, via Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

In the coming time, Ho Chi Minh City Police will continue to closely coordinate with professional units of the Ministry of Public Security and relevant agencies in detecting and combating foreign subjects who take advantage of Ho Chi Minh City to hide and commit illegal activities.
