Speaking at the opening of the workshop, journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper said: Up to now, when the Land Law 2024, Housing Law 2023 and Real Estate Business Law 2023 officially take effect from August 1, 2024, along with guiding documents under the law, it can be affirmed that the current policies to support social housing (NƠXH) and workers' housing in industrial parks have created a relatively complete legal corridor, ensuring support and encouragement for businesses to participate in the development of social housing and workers' housing.

According to statistics from the Department of Construction of Hai Phong City, there are currently 9 social housing projects in the city that have started construction with a total scale of 15,000 units. These are important projects for Hai Phong City to complete the target of 15,400 social housing units in the 2021-2025 period set by the Government. In addition, in Hai Phong City, there are 21 projects that have investment policies or investors are preparing to start construction.

To achieve that result, Hai Phong City government always considers the development of social housing and workers' housing as a key task and is included in the targets in the city's 5-year and annual socio-economic development plans.

Currently, in addition to setting the goal of building about 47,000 social housing units by 2030, exceeding the target of 33,500 units set by the Government, the city is also making efforts to make social housing a synchronous, convenient living space, affordable for the majority of people.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong said: The workshop with the participation of leaders of ministries, branches, leading experts, real estate enterprises to evaluate, analyze, discuss solutions as well as experiences in developing social housing in Hai Phong. In addition, together find solutions, remove obstacles for localities in developing social housing, workers' housing, completing assigned goals.

At the workshop, leaders of Hai Phong City, leaders of the Ministry of Construction, representatives of functional agencies, and the Real Estate Association highly appreciated the efforts of local authorities in removing difficulties, and affirmed the need to continue to spread Hai Phong's bright spots in developing social housing.

The workshop is a forum for delegates to evaluate and analyze experiences in developing social housing in Hai Phong in particular and to find solutions and remove obstacles in developing social housing and housing for workers in general.
