(NLDO) - On the afternoon of February 6, the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association organized the first Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Journalism Award.
Attending the award ceremony were Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Manh Cuong.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications Lam Dinh Thang said that after a period of launching, the Organizing Committee had received 53 works from press agencies in the city. Many reporters had spent their efforts and enthusiasm to find information and documents to write articles.
Mr. Lam Dinh Thang said that in 2025, the Department of Information and Communications and the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association will advise and propose organizing a journalism contest on Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
The Director of the Department of Information and Communications invited reporters and editors from Ho Chi Minh City press agencies and central press agencies located in Ho Chi Minh City to continue participating.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association Duong Vu Thong said that the award was organized in response to Ho Chi Minh City's 2024 theme "Determination to effectively implement Digital Transformation and Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly".
At the same time, encourage and promote all contributions and proposals for effective solutions in digital transformation; raise the vision and awareness of people, civil servants, public employees, agencies, departments, and associations about the city's digital transformation goals, recognize and actively participate in using digital platforms.
The award also aims to honor and recognize the efforts of journalists, reporters, and editors of press agencies who closely follow current events with a high sense of responsibility, and have been actively contributing to digital transformation.
Mr. Duong Vu Thong said that from the entries, the Organizing Committee selected 11 press works and 1 press agency with the largest number of entries to be awarded.
The award-winning works all reflect the correct theme, are realistic, constructive, predictive, and objectively reflect the current state of digital transformation.
At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to a group of reporters from Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper with a series of articles "Comprehensive digital transformation - The foundation for smart cities".
Two second prizes were awarded to the series of articles "Preparing for the leap to digital transformation" by a group of reporters from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper (Phan Anh - Le Vinh - Quoc Anh - Thu Hong - Thanh Nhan) and the series of articles "People's Council pioneers in digital transformation" by National Assembly Television .
Three Third Prizes were awarded to the series of articles "Ho Chi Minh City accelerates digital transformation" by Thanh Nien Newspaper; Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio with the work "From resolution to life"; and the work "Digital transformation for people to receive better health care" by Ho Chi Minh City Television .
In addition, 4 press agencies received consolation prizes, including Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper with a series of articles "Keys" to preventing online fraud (Pham Tien Dung - Thai Phuong); Ho Chi Minh City People's Voice Radio won the prize for the press agency with the largest number of entries.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai agreed with the proposal of the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Information and Communications to organize a journalism award about Resolution 57/2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.
