Reviewing the outstanding activities that VUFO has implemented in the first half of 2023, President Nguyen Phuong Nga affirmed that in just the first 6 months of the year, VUFO has implemented nearly 300 people-to-people diplomacy activities, including many notable activities such as: Friendship meeting to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement; people-to-people diplomacy activities carried out within the framework of the visit to Cuba, Argentina and Uruguay by the National Assembly Chairman; welcoming the Standing Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Secretariat, welcoming the General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) Party of the Dominican Republic...

President Nguyen Phuong Nga affirmed that the activities of the Friendship Union in localities are also very vibrant. Many new friendship associations in localities have been established, for example: the Vietnam-US Friendship Association in Quang Tri province, the Vietnam-Netherlands Friendship Association in Binh Duong...

Notably, the peace, solidarity and friendship activities implemented by VUFO in the first 6 months of the year have had very important qualitative changes. The friendship activities are all aimed at best serving the country's economic, cultural and social development goals, closely following VUFO's people-to-people diplomacy theme in 2023.

According to President Nguyen Phuong Nga, the results achieved by VUFO in the first 6 months of the year cannot be separated from the effective coordination and support of news agencies and newspapers. Information and propaganda play a very important role in the success of people-to-people diplomacy.

Also at the meeting, President Nguyen Phuong Nga shared some of VUFO's key tasks from now until the end of the year, expressing her hope that press agencies will continue to accompany and coordinate with VUFO to promote people-to-people diplomacy activities, contributing to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and countries around the world.
