Handing over charity houses to poor families in A Luoi

On the afternoon of July 11, the National Defense Academy coordinated with the Military Command (CHQS) of Thua Thien - Hue province and local authorities to hand over a gratitude house to Ms. Kan Voi (in Hong Van commune, Ha Luoi).

Major General, Dr. Le Van Hai, Head of Politics of the National Defense Academy, presented the decision to donate a house of gratitude to Ms. Kan Voi.

Attending the ceremony were Major General, Dr. Le Van Hai, Head of Political Department of the National Defense Academy, along with leaders of the Provincial Military Command and leaders of the Party Committee and government of HA Luoi.

Mrs. Kan Voi (in Ta Lo A Ho village, Hong Van commune, Ha Luoi, Thua Thien - Hue) is a family with especially difficult circumstances, old age, weak health but having to live in an old and seriously degraded house, facing many difficulties in life and unable to build a house by themselves. With the national ethic of "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves", considering the difficult circumstances of the family, the Board of Directors of the National Defense Academy decided to support her family with 80 million VND to build a new house.

The house started construction in April 2023, after nearly 3 months of construction, it has been completed on time and on schedule. The house is designed in the style of a solid, sustainable level 4 house with an area of ​​54 m2, the total construction cost is over 154 million VND, of which the National Defense Academy supported 80 million VND, the state budget supported under the national target program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas is 60 million VND. In addition, the Military Command of Ha Luoi and Hong Van commune supported more than 70 working days to complete the project.

At the handover ceremony, the leaders of the National Defense Academy presented the decision to hand over the house of gratitude to the family. On this occasion, the leaders of the Board of Directors of the National Defense Academy, the Military Command of Thua Thien - Hue province, and the Military Command of Ha Luoi also presented the family with many meaningful gifts.

Previously, to pay tribute to the heroic martyrs on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, July 27, the delegation of cadres and students of the National Defense Academy led by Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Viet Khoa, Member of the Party Central Committee, Director of the National Defense Academy, together with leaders of the Military Region 4 Command, Thua Thien - Hue Province and the Military Command of Thua Thien - Hue Province offered incense and flowers to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the HA Luoi Martyrs Cemetery and the martyrs' memorial stele in Hong Van Commune.

The handover ceremony of the gratitude house is an activity in a series of events to celebrate the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day ( July 27) and the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army ( December 22) of the officers and soldiers of the National Defense Academy.
