For the first time, the political activity "Keeping the Party member's oath" launched by the Standing Committee of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee is an opportunity to remind each Party member to never forget the sacred oath before the Party; always reminding themselves to "self-examine" and "self-correct" to contribute to protecting the prestige and honor of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The story of Party Cell Secretary Tran Van The - Head of Village 5 - Tra Tan Commune, determined to build the first "smart village" of Duc Linh District as well as Binh Thuan Province, attracted me to learn and talk. Traveling more than 130 km, we met Mr. The on a mid-August afternoon. Seeing, confiding, and then traveling with him on the green, clean, and beautiful roads in the scorching sun, we could feel the dedication of this Secretary and Village Head to serve the people. Tra Tan is the first commune honored to achieve the advanced new rural standards of Binh Thuan Province in 2022, in which Village 5 is a bright spot in that difficult and challenging journey. Currently, the appearance of this village has truly "changed its appearance", the roads and inter-village routes have all been asphalted, upgraded, have a harmonious lighting system and green trees... Thanks to that, it has created a landscape and a livable space for the people in the village. Looking from village 5 - Tra Tan, the distance between urban and rural areas has become closer.
Since joining the Party, the village Party Secretary has always kept in mind that every cadre and Party member needs to be close to the people to understand what they want, what they think, and what their lives need in order to help the Party and the government find ways to serve the people better. For nearly a decade, the oath to the Party has always been the guiding principle for the village Party Secretary to strive to practice and be worthy of the expectations that the Party has given him. Leaving village 5 - Tra Tan commune, I continued to meet and talk with veteran party member Nguyen Viet Nha (born in 1935) - Party cell of village 4, Party Committee of Sung Nhon commune, Duc Linh district. Mr. Nha is one of 14 outstanding, exemplary party members commended by the Standing Committee of Duc Linh District Party Committee for "Keeping the Party member oath" in May 2023. 88 years old, 57 years in the Party, Mr. Nha's hair is white, walking is difficult but his spirit and intelligence are still clear. Mr. Nha has been active in the revolution since he was 20 years old and became a party member at a young age. Throughout his work and holding many different positions, Mr. Nha has always maintained the steadfast spirit of a Communist Party member.
In 2021, Mr. Nha was honored to receive the 55-year Party badge. When asked, what does he still retain today after a lifetime of loyalty to the Party? With a wrinkled face but a bright smile, eyes full of pride, Mr. Nha shared: “That is the sacred oath on the day of admission to the Party. When reading the oath, I felt so sacred and proud! That sacred oath has followed me throughout my life, reminding me to always promote the revolutionary will and spirit of a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam, constantly striving to rise up, participating in serving the army, serving the Fatherland, serving the people”. That oath followed him throughout the years of the resistance war against the US and until he was later transferred to do management work and retired in 1992.
During his many working positions, when he retired, he always wondered if he should continue to contribute to the locality. So, he took on the role of Secretary of the Party Cell of Village 4, Sung Nhon Commune for 8 years. In this role, people still saw an old man who always encouraged people to strictly follow the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws. To his neighbors, Mr. Nha was a person who lived a meaningful and affectionate life, was an exemplary person in life, and was a spiritual support for his children and grandchildren. Now, although he is at a rare age and no longer holds any position, Mr. Nha still regularly participates in Party cell activities. He continues to promote the exemplary spirit of a model veteran Party member, contributing to building the Party Cell of Village 4 and the Party Committee of Sung Nhon Commune to become increasingly stronger.
Mr. Nha is a shining example of loyalty, devotion, and lifelong dedication to the Party's ideals and the development of his homeland. Following the Party for life, Party members like Mr. Nha are a generation of Party members who always "remember by heart" the oath taken on the day of admission to the Party. The contributions of these Party members have been and are making an important contribution to protecting the Party's prestige and honor, and building an increasingly clean and strong Party and government.
