Nam Dinh: Hundreds of people form national flags and party flags to celebrate National Day

On the morning of September 2, at the Hai Hau District Cultural House (Nam Dinh), the Traditional Cultural - Sports Festival celebrating the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 opened.

After the opening speech, cultural, artistic, sports and folk games with strong national identity such as symbol formation, lion-dragon dance, stilts and drums took place enthusiastically with the competition of 34 communes and towns with thousands of actors and athletes.

Besides the spiritual values, the activities taking place during the holiday also contribute to spreading the unique cultural features of Hai Hau land, promoting the strong development of tourism here.

Notably, the symbolic formation activity has become a tradition and attracted a lot of attention from people and tourists from all over the world. The hammer and sickle symbol on the Party flag and the five-pointed yellow star on the national flag, below is the 2/9 formation performed by high school students, making a strong impression at the ceremony.

As a member of the symbol formation team, Pham Ngoc Linh (class 7D, Hai Phuong Secondary School) shared: “This is the first time I have participated in such a big event. At first, we had difficulty forming the formation. After that, we performed excellently. My father came to cheer and felt very happy and proud.”

In addition, students also participated in forming some typical symbols of Hai Hau district, such as flowers, rice plants, etc. Cultural activities and artistic movements at the festival contributed to meeting the spiritual life enjoyment needs of Hai Hau district people.

The rowing competition is one of the typical sports activities organized in a series of activities with the participation of 5 communes, in which Hai Thanh commune has excellently achieved outstanding results with the first prize in both men's and women's categories.

The enthusiastic support of the fans is also a great source of motivation, adding spiritual strength to the athletes to complete their performance excellently.

Mr. Vu Manh Kha - captain of Hai Thanh commune rowing team shared: “Joy and excitement are the feelings of our team at this time. Hai Thanh team has a tradition of winning prizes in this rowing event for many years. This is my 24th year participating, I would like to thank the agencies and organizations that have organized and maintained this rowing event in particular and the sports tradition of Hai Hau district in general. This is a good tradition of Hai Hau district on every occasion of National Day September 2nd that needs to be maintained and promoted”.
