Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that the world cannot afford a conflict between Washington and Beijing, and that the correct approach is "mutual respect". He said that any attempt to overthrow China's political system is "unrealistic".

On February 15, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China wants to build a "stable, healthy and sustainable" relationship with the US, but is ready to respond to any "bullying" behavior.
"Of course we hope the US will work with us in this direction. However, if the US is not willing, if they are determined to contain and contain China, we have no choice but to continue playing the game to the end. And we will respond strongly to any unilateral bullying behavior from the US," Mr. Wang Yi said.
On the Taiwan issue, Mr. Wang stated: "I want to emphasize that there should be no double standards in abiding by international law. The sovereignty and territorial integrity of every country must be respected, which means the complete reunification of China must be supported."
* Referring to the relationship with Russia, Mr. Wang defended Beijing's stance, affirming that interactions between the two countries are "normal exchanges".
Foreign Minister Wang Yi criticized some countries - without naming them - for continuously politicizing economic and trade issues, viewing them as tools to contain China.
* Meanwhile, regarding relations with Europe, the Chinese Foreign Minister affirmed that Beijing considers Europe an important pole in a multipolar world and "sees the two sides as partners, not opponents".
“Protectionism is not the way out, and arbitrary imposition of tariffs will not create winners,” Wang Yi stressed.
* Regarding the Ukraine issue, the Chinese Foreign Minister called on all relevant parties to participate in the Russia-Ukraine peace process and that Europe should play an important role in this process to contribute to resolving the root causes of the crisis.
The Chinese foreign minister also said that “the legitimate security concerns of all parties should be taken seriously and all efforts conducive to peace should be supported.”
