Ms. Thuy Trang and her lawyer were present at the court hearing on the morning of May 31. Miss Thuy Tien was absent, her lawyer represented her at the court.

Based on the documents and evidence in the case file as well as the public debate at the trial, the panel of judges said that there was a basis to determine that Ms. Dang Thuy Trang's testimony was inconsistent. Therefore, the panel of judges declared that it did not accept Ms. Dang Thuy Trang's request to force Ms. Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien to pay 1.5 billion VND.

According to regulations, Ms. Thuy Trang has the right to appeal within 15 days.

During the court proceedings, the legal representative of Miss Thuy Tien stated that the court had not yet initiated any legal proceedings against Miss Thuy Tien against Ms. Trang. In order to resolve the case more quickly, Thuy Tien would like to withdraw the lawsuit.

In the latest developments, Ms. Thuy Trang affirmed: "The court's statement at the first instance level is not the final result. I will wait for the decision of the appellate court. Currently, my lawyer and I have prepared the procedures and submitted an appeal against the judgment of the People's Court of Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. I hope to protect my legitimate rights and interests."

Speaking further about Thuy Tien's side suddenly withdrawing the lawsuit at the court hearing on May 31, Ms. Trang said that the reason the beauty queen's side made this decision was because there was no basis to file a lawsuit.

"One day before the trial, the Department of Information and Communications of Lam Dong province came to my house to work with me and confirmed that I did not violate the honor, dignity, or personal reputation of Miss Thuy Tien as the complaint stated," said Ms. Trang.

The lawsuit between Ms. Thuy Trang and Miss Thuy Tien becomes the focus of public opinion.

As for Thuy Tien, the beauty queen said that she always believed that the court's verdict was true. After pursuing the case for more than a year, she said she was tired and had trouble sleeping due to public pressure. However, the 9x beauty said she was always optimistic because she believed that "she did not default on her debt as Ms. Trang accused", telling herself "she is not allowed to fall down".

In November 2022, Go Vap District People's Court accepted the case of "Property loan contract dispute" between the plaintiff, Ms. Dang Thuy Trang, and the defendant, Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien.

According to Ms. Trang, in mid-2017, Thuy Tien borrowed 1.5 billion VND from her to cover the cost of participating in the Miss Southern Vietnam pageant, with a commitment between the two parties. Ms. Trang asked Mr. Nguyen Quan Trong to be the lender, and she signed the loan papers as a witness. According to Ms. Trang, Thuy Tien won the prize but did not fulfill her commitment and did not pay the money.

In April 2019, according to Ms. Trang, Thuy Tien made an appointment with Ms. Trang to meet at a coffee shop in Binh Thanh district to pay off her debt, but there she took a photo and tore up the loan agreement. Ms. Trang filed a lawsuit, demanding that Thuy Tien pay her 2.4 billion VND (including 1.5 billion VND in debt and 932 million VND in compensation).

At the same time, Ms. Trang forced Thuy Tien to correct the information and publicly apologize on three newspaper pages. However, Ms. Trang recently withdrew her request for compensation of 932 million VND, only asking Miss Thuy Tien to return the 1.5 billion VND she borrowed.
