On July 1 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union held a ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union and honor 100 outstanding union officials for the 2018-2023 period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, President of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, said: Over the past 30 years, trade unions at all levels have performed well in their duties of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers. In addition, they have encouraged and motivated union members to fulfill their professional tasks well, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, making important contributions to the overall results of each agency, unit, and the achievements of the country during the renovation period.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu commented that after three decades of growth with the Vietnam Trade Union, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union is proud to be a place with many innovations, initiating many movements, campaigns, good models, effective methods, and proposing awards with wide influence.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, suggested that the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union should continue to do a good job of propagating, mobilizing, and educating cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers about policies, ethics in public service, sense of responsibility, aspiration to rise up, spirit of innovation and creativity, and awareness of law compliance. The form and method of propaganda should be constantly innovated, ensuring attractiveness, persuasion, and attracting the participation of a large number of union members and workers. Promote "Studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh".
Faced with new requirements and tasks, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union at all levels continues to propose scientific solutions, proactively and effectively implement the grassroots democracy regulations; promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; do a good job of caring for the material and spiritual life, creating a good working environment for each cadre, civil servant, public employee and worker to promote their talents, intelligence, enthusiasm, and contribute to the cause of national development. Continue to promote the implementation of patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, promptly commend and reward advanced models, and widely spread them throughout the system.
The Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union should do a better job of innovating the content and methods of trade union activities to suit the characteristics and members; paying special attention to the work of selecting cadres, training and fostering working skills for the team of trade union cadres; staying close to the grassroots, regularly directing and supporting the grassroots, grasping new guidelines and policies to concretize them in trade union activities; actively applying information technology and digital transformation in trade union activities.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union honored 100 outstanding trade union officials for the 2018-2023 period.
To date, the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union has 60 affiliated units (including 25 direct superior trade unions and 35 grassroots trade unions) with more than 600 grassroots trade unions. The number of members of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union has increased rapidly, from 22,000 members when it was first established (1994) to over 84,000 members today. The system of civil servant trade unions in provinces and cities has developed rapidly from 8 civil servant trade unions in provinces and cities when it was first established, to now the number of civil servant trade unions in provinces and cities is 63 units with over 3,000 grassroots trade unions and over 240,000 members. |
