Coach Pham Minh commented: "The whole team is in good form and is still training before leaving. What I'm worried about is that the hot weather in Ho Chi Minh City may affect the players. We will have to adapt. It doesn't matter which group we're in. Once we've made it to the finals, any team is strong. The Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports is ready."

The team of the University of Water Resources and the team of the Hanoi University of Physical Education and Sports were arranged by the Organizing Committee to stay at Dong Khanh Hotel, while the team of the University of Economics (Hue University) stayed at Thien Hong Hotel - both hotels belong to Saigon Tourist Corporation - Saigontourist Group in Ho Chi Minh City.
