Thu Minh talks about her love story during school days

In Our Song Vietnam episode 4, aired on the evening of September 22, the artists have 2 competitions: individual and pair.

According to the rules of the show, individual artists will be voted on by the audience in the quartet performance, then the scores of each pair will be combined to find the total score.

Round 2 will feature 4 duets, with the audience judging the songs. The team with the highest score after 2 rounds will have an advantage when entering live show 2.

Four pairs in group A including: Thu Minh - Vu Thao My, Thanh Lam - Orange, Mai Tien Dung - LyLy and Luong Bich Huu - OgeNus will compete in this episode.

In the individual scoring round, the generation of inspiration (including Thanh Lam, Ngoc Anh, Thu Minh and Luong Bich Huu) brought the performance "A rendezvous with youth".

In youthful colors, the performance of 4 artists stirred up the stage with intimacy and youthfulness when singing and combining with choreography.

After the performance, Thu Minh shared about her past at school. "I only played with boyfriends, rarely played with girlfriends, was the master of all fighting, in my youth I was literally a gangster," the singer said.

When OgeNus recalled her intense school days, where she was held back for 2 years in high school, Thu Minh suddenly mentioned her love story from her school days. She said that each of these friends accepted to hold back for 2 years to graduate with her.

The singer's statement made the entire studio wonder about her identity. However, Thu Minh only revealed that "this person was before Hoai Sa, Hoai Sa was not her first love". Musician Hoai Sa and Thu Minh used to love each other.

After two performances, the audience voted OgeNus and Luong Bich Huu as the two artists with the highest scores with 213 votes.

In the duet, the artist couples of two generations performed pop music. Thu Minh - Vu Thao My performed "Coffee". "I believe we gave each other a memory" was performed by Luong Bich Huu - OgeNus. "Borrowing wine to confess love" was performed by Mai Tien Dung - LyLy. The couple Thanh Lam - Orange performed the song "Love spell".

"Love Spell" is considered the most impressive performance of Our Song Vietnam episode 1. The song was transformed by music director Khac Hung with a different color of modern afrobeats (a music genre that blends funk, jazz, salsa and traditional African music) and world music.

Notably, this is the first time in her career that diva Thanh Lam has performed a song that is not her forte and danced with a dance troupe on stage. According to Orange, this performance made Thanh Lam worried, pressured, and even wanted to quit the competition.

Witnessing her senior's performance, Thu Minh commented that Thanh Lam did well in balancing professional and market factors.

However, she still joked: "For so many years, I've been dancing so hard, singing and dancing so loudly, while Ms. Lam is so cute on stage, it's unfair for everyone to vote for her." Hearing this, Thanh Lam exclaimed: "There, her true face has appeared."

Thu Minh wittily commented on Thanh Lam's performance.

After finishing 4 duet rounds, combined with the quartet score, the couple Vu Thao My - Thu Minh topped group A. Then came Orange - Thanh Lam, Luong Bich Huu - OgeNus and LyLy - Mai Tien Dung.

This victory also means that Vu Thao My - Thu Minh can choose any duo to create an alliance in live show 2. In the end, both decided to choose Luong Bich Huu - OgeNus.

The alliances will then continue to compete with each other in live show 2 through trios, duets with guests, and pairing changes.

Next week, the remaining 4 couples in group B including Quang Linh - Pham Anh Duy, Thanh Ha - Duong Edward, Ngoc Anh - Phan Duy Anh and Hoang Hai - Lam Bao Ngoc will compete together.
