According to the Southern Regional Weather Forecast Center, at 11:00 a.m. on July 16, the low pressure area in the East Sea has gradually weakened. The waters of Kien Giang, Phu Quoc, Ca Mau and the Gulf of Thailand have southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, level 8, and widespread heavy rain. Waves are 2-2.5m high, the sea is rough, with many thunderstorms and whirlwinds.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Yen Oanh, Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of An Son Commune, Kien Hai District: "A few days ago, Nam Du Island had about 700 tourists stranded on the island for four days due to bad weather, the boat stopped running - since July 13.
This afternoon, the island mobilized five Nam Du - Rach Gia trains, and all passengers were able to board the trains to the mainland. 700 passengers were guaranteed safety and good health."
