(Dan Tri) - Surpassing 5 candidates in the final round, Vice President of the Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, VNU-HCM Do Hoai Nam became the 7th Ho Chi Minh City student leader.
On the evening of October 24, the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association organized the final ranking and award ceremony of the "Ho Chi Minh City Student Leaders" contest. This is a playground for Student Association officials (or Youth Union officials) who are full-time students of universities, colleges, academies, and junior colleges in the city.
The contestants are all leaders of the Student Union or School Youth Union at educational institutions.
Ms. Tran Thu Ha, Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Association, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest, highly appreciated the success of this contest. The contestants have promoted the role of leaders, guiding, inspiring, and motivating the members and students who are following the program.

In the final round, 6 contestants competed in 4 rounds. In the first round - leader portrait, the contestants had to convey messages and perspectives on the practical work of the Association and student movements, issues related to students in the city that they were interested in. Each contestant made a presentation in a maximum of 3 minutes.
After that, the contestants entered the "Conquering Leader" competition. All 6 contestants took turns answering 20 questions from the organizers, with 30 seconds for each question.
The questions revolve around knowledge about the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the life, career, ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnam Student Association of the city...
The third part of the contest is called "Acumen Leader", including 9 question boxes displayed on the screen. Each contestant, in the order drawn in the "Leader Portrait" contest, will choose 1 question with a situation, social issue related to students, Association activities and student movements.
Questions are presented using facts, films, images, sounds, documents, etc. Based on the given situations, candidates will present their own opinions and arguments.

After 3 rounds of competition, candidates Mai Hai Yen (Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Officials), Do Hoai Nam (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University), Pham Ngoc Quy (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education) with the highest cumulative scores will enter the final round.
In this round, contestants drew lots to compete in pairs through a debate on a social issue related to students. Outstandingly surpassing two opponents, Do Hoai Nam won convincingly and won first prize in this competition.

"This is an extremely valuable opportunity for me to learn from my seniors and assert myself. After each round, I also perfected many new skills. This award will be a motivation for me to continue studying and contributing to the activities of the Association in particular and the community in general," Hoai Nam shared after the final victory.
