Vietnam is promoting the great benefits and potentials of new economic models, making efforts to concretize the implementation of socio-economic development goals from the perspective of sustainable development, realizing the SDGs sustainable development goals by 2030 in accordance with the new context and achieving the goal of net zero emissions by 2050. Many strategies to promote new economic models have been issued recently.
Also at the forum, Deputy Minister Do Thanh Trung raised 5 issues related to new economic models in the coming time: Firstly, new economic models such as green economy, circular economy, digital economy, sharing economy are closely and organically linked to each other and are all based on an important foundation which is science, technology and innovation along with high-quality human resources.
Therefore, prioritizing investment in science, technology and training high-quality human resources is a prerequisite for successfully implementing new economic models.
Second, new economic models are all by and for people, with people at the center, so when implementing new economic models, it is necessary to ensure the principles of fairness and equality. Therefore, it is necessary to have a roadmap to minimize impacts on vulnerable groups such as the poor, ethnic minorities, women, children, and the elderly in this process.
Third, the implementation of new economic models requires close and comprehensive coordination of all relevant parties. The State plays a leading role, creating an institutional and policy framework, providing initial support, and the business community plays a pioneering and core role in this process, especially large enterprises and successful startups.
Fourth, the implementation of new economic models always needs to keep up with the world's progressive trends, especially advances in science, technology, and innovation. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen international cooperation, exchange experiences, and share information.
Fifth, developed countries, where economic models such as green economy, circular economy, and digital economy are being strongly and widely deployed, need to continue to increase technical and financial support for developing countries in promoting the deployment of new economic models to work towards common interests and global goals on climate and sustainable development.
