On the afternoon of February 4, five people were shot at Risberska Skolan school in the city of Orebro, central Sweden.

Swedish police said six ambulances were at the scene to take the injured to hospital.
Students at the school where the incident occurred are currently being kept safe in their classrooms. Nearby schools have also asked students, teachers and staff to stay indoors.
Speaking at a press conference the same evening, Orebro city police chief Roberto Eid Forest stated that investigators suspect one of the five injured people may be the perpetrator, and are verifying whether there are other suspects.
Police are continuing to investigate in the direction of intentional murder and use of dangerous weapons.
According to Aftonbladet newspaper and SVT and TV4 television stations, a teacher at the school said someone opened the classroom door after the lunch break and shouted for everyone to get out. This witness and 15 students escaped safely.
She then heard two gunshots and saw the wounded being taken away from the scene. Local hospitals have now set up emergency rooms and intensive care units to receive victims.
School attacks are relatively rare in Sweden, but there have been several serious incidents in recent years.
In March 2022, an 18-year-old student stabbed two teachers at a high school in the southern city of Malmo. In October 2015, three people were killed in a racist attack at a school in the western town of Trollhattan.
