Attending the event were Ms. Pham Thi Hoe - Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education; representatives of a number of departments, branches and nearly 150 delegates representing all levels of Associations for Promoting Education in the province.
In the 2019-2024 term, the Learning Promotion Associations at all levels in the province have successfully completed the tasks of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society. The province currently has 238 Learning Promotion Associations with 2,490 branches and 282,700 members. Propaganda work has been focused on, contributing to raising awareness of all levels, sectors, and people about the meaning and importance of building a learning society.
The models of “Learning Family”, “Learning Clan”, “Learning Community”… continue to be replicated, especially in ethnic minority areas. The Association at all levels has built 220 Community Learning Centers, contributing to updating knowledge and skills, serving production and community life.
In particular, during the past term, the Association for Promotion of Education at all levels has had many forms and measures to actively mobilize organizations, individuals, businesses, philanthropists... inside and outside the province to contribute to building the Fund for Promotion of Education, granting long-term scholarships to students overcoming difficulties.
Typical examples are the Scholarship Funds: Mai Vang, Dinh Thien Ly, La Xanh, Vong tay nhan ai, Pham Hong, “Vi em hieu hoc”, “Em nuoi” project… The total amount of money mobilized is up to nearly 140 billion VND including cash and items such as clothes, bicycles, books and many other welfare projects. The mobilization and use of the Scholarship Fund is carried out in accordance with the regulations, ensuring publicity and transparency.
In addition, the Association for Promotion of Education at all levels also coordinates to implement and promote the three educational environments (school, family, society) and the socialization of education.
In the 2024-2029 term, the Association for Promotion of Education at all levels will continue to consolidate and develop the Association's organization; promote and improve the quality of activities; and perfect the team of cadres working on promotion of education from the provincial to grassroots levels.
The Association also sets out the goal of effectively coordinating with departments, branches, sectors, and organizations, especially the Education sector, in carrying out the tasks of promoting learning, promoting talents, and building a learning society; continuing to mobilize the establishment and development of the Learning Promotion Fund to promptly support and encourage students with difficult circumstances to excel in their studies.
On the other hand, do a good job of coordinating propaganda; strongly apply information technology to activities; well organize the 2nd Provincial Congress to commend typical learning models on building 5 learning models from the grassroots in 2025.
By the end of the term, the Association strives to develop members to reach the target of 23% of the province's population; by the end of 2028, Pleiku City will be recognized by UNESCO as a "Learning City" in the global network of Learning Cities.
The Congress announced the election results of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the 5th term, and the Inspection Committee for the 2024-2029 term held at the previous preparatory session. The new Executive Committee was introduced with 31 members; Meritorious Teacher Nhan Thi Hang Nga was re-elected as President of the Association.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 7 individuals; the Provincial Association for Promoting Education commended 16 groups and 15 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Association's work for the 2019-2024 term.
The Central Association awarded scholarships worth 100 million VND to poor students in the province who have overcome difficulties. SEAMEO CELLL Vietnam Center (Regional Center for Lifelong Learning of the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization) presented the provincial Association for the Promotion of Education with a laptop worth 12 million VND.
