Due to the impact of the flood after storm No. 3, four units of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province suffered heavy damage, with many machines, equipment and documents submerged and damaged. In parallel with overcoming the damage, the units have tried to maintain all activities, especially handling administrative procedures for people and businesses on time and without interruption.

On the morning of September 20, Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment presented equipment and machinery to 4 units that suffered heavy damage caused by natural disasters.

Four units of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province in Group 8, Yen Thinh Ward, Yen Bai City (Department of Land Management, Department of Environmental Protection, Land Registration Office, Center for Natural Resources and Environment Monitoring) were deeply submerged in water (in some places the water was 1.5 meters high). At the four units, a number of specialized equipment, records, documents, and fixed assets were large and bulky, making them very difficult to move. In particular, some units only arranged a row of one-story level IV houses for work... Therefore, when the water rose, many machines, equipment, and many documents were submerged and damaged.

Immediately after the water receded, the offices of the four units could be accessed. The Department's leaders and the leaders of the units were present in a timely manner to directly direct and overcome the consequences of the natural disaster. The Department mobilized maximum forces and means with the four units to participate in clearing mud and soil, rearranging files and documents. At the same time, for equipment that could be repaired, the technical department and specialized agencies processed and restored hard drives and data. All submerged documents have been and are being processed by drying.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Viet - Head of the Department of Land Management (Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province) said: The unit was flooded on the entire first floor, many machines, working equipment as well as documents were flooded and damaged. Immediately after the water receded, the unit focused on cleaning and repairing documents that were flooded and covered with mud. Currently, the unit is drying the wet documents and files and bringing them to the third floor, turning on the air conditioner to try to preserve and continue to use the documents at the highest level possible.

With a large amount of mud, however, with the support of the Department and other units, after 3 days, the unit's staff started working again. The unit mobilized machines and personal computers to ensure that all activities returned to normal and that administrative procedures were not delayed.

Sharing with reporters of TN&MT Newspaper, Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province said: With the heavy damage to equipment, machinery, and documents, the Board of Directors of the Department unanimously called on a number of benefactors and specialized units in the field to support units with equipment and machinery in the fastest time. Up to now, the Department has received support from units such as: VNPT Yen Bai, Viettel Yen Bai, Information Technology Center (Office of the Central Party), Data and Land Information Center... with some equipment and machinery to initially overcome the immediate difficulties. The Department has reported to the Provincial People's Committee to have a solution in the coming time.

After receiving from the units on the morning of September 20, Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment directly handed over the equipment and machinery to the units. Regarding the documents and records that are being processed by the units, the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment requested the units to try to maintain the maximum quality and arrange the records by each field.

“At the same time, units must check and review each category of damaged documents to have a solution. For documents and records that cannot be restored but have soft documents that need to be copied. For documents that cannot be restored, it is necessary to coordinate with related units to make copies. With supported equipment and machinery, units are requested to preserve and use them effectively in accordance with regulations so that all activities run smoothly, and administrative procedures for people and businesses are handled without interruption or breakage,” emphasized Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province.
