Many museum spaces are being gradually established to attract young creative elites, making Hanoi Museum the creative center of the city.

Innovation to increase destination appeal
After the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, coming to Hanoi Museum, you can clearly feel the changes taking place here. The outside of the museum has been renovated, planted with more trees, and at the same time, private units are allowed to combine and open service spaces to serve the needs of visitors for snacks and refreshments.
Director of Hanoi Museum Nguyen Tien Da said that the service area was launched with the aim of creating a stop for visitors to rest or work after visiting the museum.
“This area is designed with low floors so as not to disrupt the architectural landscape of the museum. We planted a rose garden with the famous fragrant rose variety of Me Linh district, not only to create a landscape for visitors to check-in and relax, but also to promote the “specialty” of the famous flower growing region of Hanoi,” Mr. Nguyen Tien Da shared.
In addition to the new service space and landscape, the Hanoi Museum also renovated some of its external facilities. Most notably, a glass stage was built in the lake and garden area to host art performances and outdoor events.
Recently, to increase the attraction of the destination, Hanoi Museum has coordinated with Thang Long Music and Dance Theater to organize the music night “True love”, which is expected to be held quarterly. In addition, this will be a place for young music groups to perform for the community.
The area inside the museum is thematic exhibition activities. It is expected that in October 2025, Hanoi Museum will complete the exhibition spaces according to the city's approved outline.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Da informed that visitors will learn about Hanoi through the historical stages of the nation, from nature to prehistoric times, Hanoi in the 19th and 20th centuries, Hanoi during the resistance war against France and the US, Hanoi towards the future. In particular, the content of "Hanoi towards the future" will be adjusted to suit the era of national development. Viewers will see Hanoi develop with wide boulevards, urban railways, clean rivers transformed into cool green spaces for the community...
Empowering new creations
Hanoi Museum is one of the largest investment projects in the Vietnamese museum system. In 2010, the project inaugurated the construction part and began implementing the design project. After more than ten years, with the consultation of the Advisory Council and experts in the fields of culture and heritage, Hanoi Museum is gradually completing the exhibition part with many expectations that it can become an attractive destination to attract tourists, contributing to the development of the cultural industry of the capital.
In September 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a Decision to establish the Hanoi Creative Activities Coordination Center (referred to as the Center) located at the Hanoi Museum.
Vice Chairwoman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha emphasized that the Center has the function of coordinating and promoting creative activities; attracting and connecting local and international creative resources; introducing, sharing, and supporting the pilot implementation of ideas in the creative field...
According to the assessment of Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society, when Hanoi becomes a "Creative City" in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), the establishment of a Center for Coordination of Creative Activities is very necessary to connect units, organizations and individuals operating in creative fields in Hanoi and UNESCO creative cities in Vietnam and internationally.
Newly put into operation, the Hanoi City Creative Coordination Center (in which the Hanoi Museum plays a core role) has had many activities to attract young creators.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Da said that the Center is developing criteria for creative spaces, in which it emphasizes the preservation of cultural identity in creative products; building a digital map of creative spaces to develop tourism; expanding effective creative models that can bring economic and commercial value.
“The Hanoi Museum will be a place to foster creative aspirations in the capital. We have worked with young creative groups, organized exhibitions and introduced products from Hanoi’s craft villages,” said Mr. Nguyen Tien Da.
According to the plan, the Hanoi Creative Coordination Center will connect with domestic creative centers such as Da Lat, Quang Nam, and Ho Chi Minh City to build a national creative network. In the coming time, the Center will connect with countries such as Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines to gather creative forces in the region and organize international creative events, such as the Hanoi International Creative Design Festival.
