On February 3, the Vietnamese Embassy in Ottawa organized a community Tet program in a joyful and cozy atmosphere, contributing to preserving cultural identity and educating the young generation of Vietnamese people in Canada about national traditions. The event to welcome the Year of the Dragon attracted a large number of people from all over the country, especially the enthusiastic participation of many Vietnamese students studying in Canada, as well as young Vietnamese people born and raised here. In his congratulatory message, Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang said that this event reminded people of the sacred and cozy atmosphere of family reunions in Vietnam. Although the weather outside was cold winter, everyone seemed to feel warm because they gathered here to share joy, summarize the old year and hope for a better New Year. The Ambassador also quickly informed the people about the country's outstanding achievements in the fields of socio-economics, politics and diplomacy, and especially the progress in the Vietnam-Canada relationship when the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Mr. Bui Van Tuan, a long-time Vietnamese living in Canada, expressed his excitement: "This year's community Tet has many changes. The young students who came here to study have shown more talent and are more confident in their current lives. In particular, I was very happy to hear the Ambassador inform about the country's progress and hope that our country will continue to develop strongly in the coming year."A special performance of traditional Ao Dai by students studying in the capital city of Ottawa. Vietnamese students and young Vietnamese in Canada have created new and unique features in the Giap Thin Community Tet program with cultural exchanges reminiscent of the image of the homeland in the colors of Spring. The students have worked hard to prepare and coordinate to organize a very lively Ao Dai fashion show, thereby expressing a spirit of solidarity towards the homeland. Le Quang Minh, a student at the University of Ottawa, shared that we are very honored to attend this event in an extremely warm atmosphere. Here, all Vietnamese people gather, there is Vietnamese music and Vietnamese food, all of these things help us to ease our homesickness. This year's Community Tet has many students invited to attend. This is something new and it proves that the Embassy has paid more attention to students and the younger generation... I feel a real reunion.Baoquocte.vn
