An alley in Hanoi is causing a stir in the online community because of its "super small" size. According to Tien Phong reporter, alley 445 Bach Mai (Hai Ba Trung district) is so small that only one person can pass through, two people going through together is almost "mission impossible".

Not only do people living in alley 445 Bach Mai have to "squeeze" part of the wall in the alley so that motorbikes can "sneak" into their houses.

The entire wall was hollowed out, creating a long dent in the wall. Although it was somewhat "ugly", this was the only way for people here to bring vehicles into their homes.

The handlebars of a motorbike were worn out - evidence of many "collisions" with the wall over a long period of time.

According to the residents, because the alley is too narrow, many families are forced to park their vehicles outside, especially scooters. Only a few households that use manual transmission vehicles can bring their vehicles into their homes.

"The alley is small but it is secure. Many people do not dare to enter, and there are almost no thefts," said Mr. Binh, a resident of alley 445 Bach Mai for more than 30 years.

Although the alley is narrow and inconvenient, the houses inside the alley are still built very high. A homeowner in the alley said that a 3-storey house in the alley is being sold for 3-5 billion VND/house.

Inside that narrow alley, a modest common yard appears, where households carry out their daily activities.

From inside looking out the alley is the hustle and bustle of Hanoi streets.

Despite limited space, people still find ways to take advantage of every space to dry clothes.

The alleys here are small, deep and dark like tunnels.
