Police said the driver fled the scene after crashing into the cafe called Le Ramus in Paris.
A police source said there was another person in the car who tested positive for alcohol and drugs. He was not among the casualties.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after the incident and took the injured to hospital. At least four fire engines were dispatched, while soldiers patrolled nearby Gambetta Square.
The scene of the crash is being investigated and a bomb disposal team has been called in to carry out checks as part of "safety measures".
Investigators have yet to confirm whether this was an accident or the "deliberate act" of the driver.
A waiter at another cafe just 200 metres away said he saw the car drive past “at full speed” before hearing a loud bang. A staff member at another restaurant said the car “came back on a one-way street and crashed” into the cafe.
France is on high security alert ahead of the Paris Olympics, which open on July 26. A series of terrorist threats have been made by IS during the sporting event.
A French anti-terrorism soldier was stabbed at a train station in central Paris on Monday, officials said.
