Information from the Traffic Police Department, Lai Chau Provincial Police said that the series of accidents caused by specialized traffic police vehicles in Tam Duong district did not cause any human casualties.
Accordingly, at about 1:15 p.m. on May 15, at km 399 + 650 of National Highway 32, in the area of Moi village, Ban Bo commune, Tam Duong district (Lai Chau), a traffic accident occurred between a car with license plate 25A - 003.48 (a specialized vehicle of the traffic police) and a car with license plate 25C - 036.34 parked on the side of the road in the opposite direction.
After crashing into the truck, the traffic police vehicle continued to crash into 4 motorbikes on the side of the road.
The driver who caused the accident was Mr. Bui Hieu Thao, born in 1995, an officer of the Traffic Police - Order Team of Than Uyen district, Lai Chau province, driving from Tan Uyen district to Tam Duong district.
After causing an accident with a truck, the traffic police vehicle crashed into four other motorbikes parked on the side of the road. Luckily, there were no people there.
According to a representative of the Traffic Police Department, Lai Chau Provincial Police, the initial cause was determined to be the driver not being in control of the steering wheel, causing the accident. Through a breath alcohol test on Mr. Bui Hieu Thao, the authorities did not detect any alcohol in his breath.
The case is currently being further investigated by local authorities.
