Reportedly, two pangolins (one golden pangolin and one Javan pangolin) were discovered by local residents in their garden. The residents then contacted authorities and voluntarily handed them over.
The golden pangolin was handed over by Mr. Ha Van Mang (residing in Ban Phe, Tam Thanh commune, Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province). The Javan pangolin was handed over to the Dien Bien Forest Protection Department by Mr. Nguyen The Anh - a resident of Ban Ten B, Thanh Xuong commune, Dien Bien district, Dien Bien province.

Upon receiving the information, the rescue team from Cuc Phuong National Park and the Wildlife Conservation Center in Vietnam traveled to each location to retrieve the two pangolins and safely transport them back to the rescue center in Cuc Phuong. Initial checks indicate that both pangolins are in stable health.
In addition, a pregnant golden pangolin has been discovered. This is considered good news for conservationists because the golden pangolin population in the wild is extremely rare. The pregnancy of this golden pangolin could contribute to the recovery of this rare population.
