The recent establishment of the Advanced Training Center for Diagnostic Imaging (AIEC) under the Institute of Health Sciences - VinUni University is the clearest proof of Vinmec's desire.

Realizing the dream of high quality human resources

“In our time, we studied subjects such as anatomy, symptoms, and then pathology in order... Therefore, it is easy to forget the knowledge between pathology and symptoms. Currently, the training model at universities has changed compared to the classic training method because reality requires doctors to continuously update their knowledge and practice to optimize treatment effectiveness,” Associate Professor Bui Van Giang (Director of Diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Radiology - Vinmec Healthcare System and Head of Radiology Department - VinUni University) shared.

At the Advanced Training Center for Diagnostic Imaging (AIEC), students will be given access to everything from basic to practical applications. In particular, after completing a training module, students can immediately practice in that pathology area.

According to Associate Professor Giang, each course follows a model that combines domestic and foreign students. In addition, foreign lecturers with in-depth experience in specialized fields from major hospitals in the world in the UK, the US, Australia, etc. will teach directly to students. Lecturers teach with data, originals of all images. Students can process and recreate images, and practice all steps of working in the hospital through stations in the classroom.

Leaders of the Ministry of Health, Representatives of the US Embassy in Vietnam, Vinmec and GE discussed the new training model.

Mr. Nguyen Ngo Quang - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Training (Ministry of Health) assessed that this is one of the advanced models, both academic to serve the research and training work and highly practical, helping to improve the practical capacity of clinical doctors. Putting into operation the Advanced Training Center on Diagnostic Imaging is a suitable direction, updated with the world, helping to improve the practical capacity of doctors and provide the best health care services to the people.

Contribute to improving the quality of Vietnam's medical industry

Sharing after the course, Dr. Nguyen Ba Phong (Medlatec General Hospital) said that the advanced musculoskeletal course he attended helped the radiologist better understand cases he had never encountered before. In particular, the system of facilities and the elaborate and complete imaging and storage system, with many clinical cases from the center's image bank, helped to satisfactorily answer the questions of doctors and teachers. "Clinical cases at home and abroad provide a comprehensive view of musculoskeletal diseases. In addition, clinical cases from surgeons help radiologists compare and contrast to reach the most reasonable conclusion, helping to increase interaction between the radiologist and the surgeon," the doctor assessed.

Analyzing the outstanding strengths of AIEC, Associate Professor Bui Van Giang pointed out that the courses at the Advanced Training Center for Diagnostic Imaging will help experienced doctors continue to update new knowledge, combined with practice on modern equipment, with high practicality.

The courses will help experienced doctors continue to update their knowledge.

In addition to diagnostic imaging, the center also has surgeons and lectures by orthopedic trauma doctors to provide students with an overview from diagnosis to treatment, even prognosis and other issues. In addition to the first topic on musculoskeletal magnetic resonance, the center will have courses related to other fields such as obstetrics, oncology, cardiology, etc.

“Our initial idea was to create an environment where people could practice like in a hospital but with an academic nature right from the first course and in the following courses. This model is not only our dream but also the dream of health managers. We hope to contribute our small efforts to state management and improve the quality of the health workforce, and thus contribute to health care for the people,” Associate Professor Bui Van Giang emphasized.

Immediately after completing the course, students will be awarded a certificate of continuing education (CME) in diagnostic imaging. In addition to the field of Diagnostic Imaging, Vinmec is also promoting long-term continuous training in anesthesia, emergency, resuscitation, surgery, etc., aiming to contribute to improving the quality of the Vietnamese healthcare sector as well as bringing the best treatment results to patients.
